The NAKTALA METAL PALLY (or simply, NMP) is an organization of bands in Kolkata aimed at promoting original music by the underground bands and/or the bands introducing a new genre to the listeners of the state of West Bengal. Language is never a bar, though Bengali is always preferred.
Though the metal genre comprises a huge part of the organization, but it equally concentrates on the bands whose genre does not fall into the 'metal' category.
NMP started way back in May 2007 when it organized the first EVER underground concert in the city. A total of seven bands shared the stage and a crowd of almost a thousand made their presence felt. The concert was a huge success with a good amount of media coverage around the city.
The organization has two mother bands: Amavasya and Rikterskale - both being pioneers of metal in the Bengali band circuit. Other than the two mother bands, NMP has bands enrolled under the brand and works towards promoting everyone on an equal and encouraging level. With the number of bands growing in the city and very little support system present, a pro-active and dynamic setup has been implied by NMP to make the total scene well organized and the music/bands, easily accessible.
NMP is also equipped with the system of releasing EP's on a regular basis. There is an established distribution channel for the organization which makes sure that the utmost effort is made to bridge the gap between artists and their targetted and/or potential listeners.
We are also open to bands who being outside the organization are interested to get their EP's produced under NMP. We provide the artists with all possible resources (eg. drums sequencing, session musicians if necessary, mixing & mastering, post production activities) at a very nominal rate - which is very low compared to the market rate. We make sure that the best production is reached in the minimal expenditure possible.
